He’s 100% a lock at RB1, he had some catching issues but his elusiveness and the way he performed down the stretch last szn was amazing. He was essentially a top 5 rb in the league over the last 8 or so games

I'm high on James Cook but you're right, it is a meritocracy and I'd rather see the better performing back getting the most touches. That said, Jimbo will be fine, think people over-worrying a little on this one...

@@SeanL-jw9rr I know the statement wasn't posed this way but for clarification, I'm high on Ty Johnson as a number two running back in our system but like we're both saying it's a meritocracy so we'll see how it all shakes out

@@TangibleAndroid Yeah, I just rewatched some tape and Ray and Ty have very similar styles. The differences I noted were Ray seems to have more short area burst and cutting ability, whereas Ty had more long speed and perfectly fine cutting. Both have an ease of fluidity in lane change and seem like they would even make great return men. Given the new kickoff setup that might be even more true. Anyway, I guess I'd say they're both very good backs. I absolutely love James Cook, but I wouldn't mind seeing any of those guys in on a play. They all have excellent field vision and immediate sense of We really do have solid depth at RB, one less thing for this Bills fan to worry about, I suppose, lol

@@SeanL-jw9rr how awesome is it that we have a running back room that we like and we know we're going to use and be effective with? It's been a little while but the only thing that makes me nervous is that we had the best incarnation of our offensive line last year but this upcoming year we're going to have to re-tool a little bit, so we'll see. I was a fan of Devin Singletary and thought we never committed enough to the run during his tenure. Now he's on the giants, my brother's favorite team and he's upset that saquon's gone but I'm trying to convince him that Devin Singletary should fit in there and do pretty good sure he's no saquon Barkley but the way that they want to run their offense there through the passing game I think he'll be a really good running back for them

They traded up last year to take Kincaid who was, by far, the best player available. That was a move a lot of people questioned right after overpaying Knox. Also, this year they took Sedric Van Pran when they already announced that McGovern was moving to Center. I think that move will turn out to be a master stroke. He was a steal for a 5th round pick.

@@upstatenydude8322 Still say- taking best player available is largely a myth. Would they take best player available if it was a QB with Josh Allen on the roster- of course not. Largely a myth. That's why so many teams trade up for players they want. No one trades up to take best player available- ever. They are taking a player for a perceived need. Joey Porter, Sam LaPorta, Michael Meyer, Myles Murphy and Tuli Tuipulotu were ALL rated HIGHER than Kincaid but were taken AFTER Kincaid. Why didn't the Bills take the best player available???????????????

@@kenbash2951 Look, I'm not looking for an argument but all those players you mentioned were rated higher by whom? Mel Kiper? Not Brandon Beane, and I tend to trust his knowledge of how to build an NFL roster more than any pundit, and certainly more than myself. To your point, the only recent and obvious overreach on drafting for need is Elam. It was a rare occasion of Beane getting caught off-guard when KC jumped him and took his real pick, McDuffie.

@@upstatenydude8322 Have to disagree. The evaluation is all over the place. In the case of Kincaid, that was a reach. He was not the best available. He's not even the best at his position. Sam La Porta is already better than him and they could have had him without giving up a pick. Elam's skillset does not fit McDermott's defensive style. They had 4 rounds to draft Tariq Woolen who is already a pro bowler and athletic freak of nature. Didn't get a sniff. That's not to say the players Beane drafted aren't good and they could ultimately be great, but the valuation has not been correct. Keon is another example. He was going to be there in the third because his stock dropped and if he wasn't, there were many more highly rated prospects they skipped and upside players they ignored. Yet, they draft Cole Bishop who was projected to go in the 100's and is not a finished product and considering they signed Taylor Rapp, this is a wasted pick. Knowing that they fired 2/3 of the receiving core and that this was a historic draft for WR talent and Beane was like nah we don't need anything, I can get these players off the scrap heap to fill the void is going to go one of two ways: either Beane will look like a genius or he's gonna look like a complete idiot who wasted the best years of Josh Allen's career.

No way. Imagine having the weakest wide receiving core in the entire NFL and keeping more of them. That seems insane to me why not keep more of a stronger position?
